Music Hockey Rocks

According to this chart, this is the proper format to share it to.

No concert, but CHL playoff hockey

Didn’t feel very well when I woke up, so I didn’t attend the EP Release for Young Lyons Saturday.

6 teams in action Saturday, Denver @ Allen, Fort Worth @ Quad City, and Rapid City @ Missouri. This was due or die for Denver & Quad City and the effort was there for both.

I listened to the Denver broadcast, it seemed that Allen was there to start fights, while Denver wanted to play hockey.  Allen played the better game unfortunately, their 6-2 win secured their spot in the next round of the playoffs.

Quad City & Fort Worth seemed to have trouble getting the puck into the net, as Fort Worth advanced to the next round with a 1-0 win.

Missouri was trailing at the 2nd intermission 2-1, but were able to pull out the 5-2 win against Rapid City.  Game 6 is Tuesday and game 7 if needed will be Wednesday to determine who moves on to the next round.

Missouri/Rapid City winner will face off against Allen in the next round, while Wichita & Fort Worth prepare for battle.

must…find…a…way…to…blog…more!

I was recently offered a job doing social media & blogging, while my SM skills are awesome (if I may say so myself), but I felt my blogging wasn’t strong enough, so I responded to the offer too slowly.  With that being said, I’m going to try this out again.  I’m waiting to hear on a lot of things, I’m afraid to blog about them (usually if I post something online I’m waiting to hear about, it doesn’t work out), so pardon the vague statements.

One thing I’ve been missing since being dropped from the street team is going to concerts, I realized this about 3 weeks ago when I attended a show I won tickets to.  While attending a social media conference 2 weeks ago, the opening night reception also had live music that confirmed that feeling more.  Despite the fact the reception music wasn’t a genre I normally enjoy (jazz), I really loved it!  For the record, I was drinking Coke & Sprite, so it wasn’t the alcohol talking.

This weekend, I found 2 shows I would like to attend, but with one options being indoors (I had a migraine Thursday, so the loud music & bright stage lights in a dark room may not be a wise choice), and the other an outdoor show w/a chance of rain that day (walking/standing on rainy days is difficult), who knows what will happen.

One thing I can do this evening is listen to CHL playoff hockey games.  While Tulsa didn’t make the playoffs this year, I’ve been listening to other team’s broadcasts.  Wichita has already eliminated Arizona, but the other 6 teams are playing today.  Allen leads the series 3-1, so Denver will try to stay alive, Quad City won Friday’s match up, but Fort Worth already has 3 wins under their belt, and Missouri tied up their series with Rapid City at 2 wins a piece Friday night.  I’m planning on listening to Denver’s Brien Rea & hope they aren’t defeated by the evil Allen team.

Hope the next post will be sooner rather than later.

No week seems to pass without some tweeter or other having their handle felt by officers of the law. So if you don’t want to be one of them but you do want to communicate in 140 characters, here are my 10 Golden Rules:

  1. Twitter IS publishing. Putting it out there…

I am no longer on the street team.
I never would have attended 311, They Might Be Giants, Hurt, Grouplove & Young the Giant, Incubus or had done so many of the fun things if it wasn’t for it.
I never would have found out about The Wondering Madman, Jonathan Coulton, or a dj I like that the name has slipped my mind.
I wouldn’t have went to St. Patrick’s Day party on Cherry St., Rooster Days, or Reggaefest.
I would still be boycotting the Drillers, or had considered working at the fair again.
Cutbacks suck & I’m a victim of them once again.

“They Might Be Giants will be making up the cancelled show on Wed, February 1, 2012. All tickets purchased will be honored. If you are interested in a refund, visit www.cainsballroom.com/refunds”

Previously scheduled for 9/25/11, this is the make-up date.
